I have three beautiful daughters I love dearly. But I always thought it would be nice to have a son. I have the next best thing- two wonderful sons-in-law. I love them dearly as well.
My North Carolina son-in-law is married to First Daughter. They are a great match. She is driven, opinionated, smart, organized, and compassionate. An interior designer, she is a design services project manager for a health care system. Her husband is patient, gifted, laid back, and meticulous. A registered landscape architect, he is also a gifted artist and one year surprised me at Christmas with an oil painting of my granddaughters. I was so touched, I burst into tears. He and I are polar political opposites. We love to tease and banter about it. We also share a love of technology though he is much more cutting edge than I am. He is also an amazing cook. My favorite dish he cooks is chicken caprese.

My Texas son-in-law is married to Princess Daughter. A United Airlines pilot, he is a First Officer whose duties include pre-flight planning, inspection, preparation, flying the aircraft to the destination, any post flight issues, maintenance reporting, and debriefing. He looks so handsome in his uniform. Princess Daughter works in the home, volunteers at her child’s school, plays tennis, works with a trainer and devotes herself to her precocious daughter transporting her to voice, piano, and tennis lessons. Her husband plays golf in his spare time, plays with his daughter and keeps my daughter grounded. He is incredibly bright and verbal. When my daughter is tentative or indecisive, he can gently push her. My conversations with him are interesting and stimulating. I often seek his opinion on various matters- the airline industry, which heat pump to install, and Texas politics.

I am a mother-in-law blessed. I feel my girls are in relationships where they are allowed to be themselves and to be the best mothers they can be. Love you guys!
